COSNOS (Carrier-Grade Open Source Network Operating System) is a system wide software platform for next generation network nodes and functions. COSNOS incorporates all aspects of Network Function Virtualization (NFV) and can consist of everything but the application itself, including operating systems, middleware, and necessary open source building blocks from industry collaboration projects (OPNFV, OpenDataPlane, OpenStack, OpenFlow, Open vSwitch).
