Description
Aeponyx has developed a way to overlay WDM-PON on top of existing IPTV-based GPON deployments. IPTV-based GPON deployments, more often than not, provide full DWDM C band availability. By inserting a very low-cost bandpass filter just before a power splitter, it is possible to multiplex WDM-PON onto a GPON network. In a GPON network where IPTV is used instead of RF Overlay to transport video, the coexistence of WDM-PON and GPON on the same fiber is possible.
