Description
Also referred to as Femtocell Gateway (F-GW), it is based on an architecture that provides the control capabilities necessary to manage large clusters of femtocells. The primary function is to enable simple, seamless, highly secure access to subscribers as they roam between trusted mobile networks and untrusted public networks. It provides an aggregation functionality for a group of Femtocell Access Points (FAPs) that preserves the hierarchical architecture of the current generation of the Core Network because it does not expose a large number of eNodeB base stations to the Core Network elements.
